About
I love clouds and drugstores and the smell of gasoline. I’m a Germanophile. I have favorite words and shapes. I love Helen Frankenthaler and David Markson and the French surrealist poets.
I’ve worked in news for more than 20 years, and have also been a dogsitter, a NOW canvasser and an assistant professor in the Midwest. If I could be something else it would be a glass of sparkling water.
I grew up in the underrated New Jersey suburbs. I miss the crickets. Since then I’ve lived in China, Italy, Kansas, Germany and Philadelphia. Now I’m in Barcelona. If I crane my neck around the corner of my building, I can see the Mediterranean. There is so much sunshine.
My parents were readers so I am, too. The afterlife I believe in is called history and literature.
